DRAWDY, JAMES C.	1814-1880 	WAYNE

James C. Drawdy was born in Tattnall County in 1814, son of William Drawdy 
(Vol.I). He was married in Wayne County, Oct. 3, 1833, to Elizabeth Harper, 
born 1820, daughter of James and Mary Harper of Wayne County (Vol.I).
They had twelve children:

3. Harriet	b. 1842. m. Ist. Jos. H. Manning, Jan. 14, 1858; 2nd. James H.

5. Daniel W.	b. 1846, m. Lucinda Crosby, Aug. 20, 1866, dau. of Aaron.
6. George W.	b. 1848, m. Mary Strickland, Feb. 10, 1870. Moved to Suwannee 
Co. Fla.
7. Martha Ann	b. 1849, m. Joseph Crosby, Sept. 6, 1866.
8. Albert H.	b. 1852, died Nov. 1869.
9. Samuel 0.	b. 1854. died Nov. 1869.
10. Martha Ann	b. 1855, m - --------
11. Serena	b. 1857, m - --------
12. Levicy	b. 1860. m.

Mr. Drawdy served as Captain of the militia, 333rd district Wayne County, 
1832-34. In 1840 he served in the Florida Indian War in Capt. Aaron 
Jernigan's company of mounted militia, serving from Sept. 17th to Nov. 5, 
1840, when he was mustered out at Traders Hill. He was Coroner of Wayne 
County, 1838-1840, Justice of Peace, 333rd district, 18461849 and again 
1853-1861. He was a Justice of Wayne Inferior Court, serving from 1865 
until the Court was abolished in 1869.
Judge Drawdy died about 1880, and was buried in a family cemetery on his 
home-place in present Wayne County near Gardi.


DRAWDY, THOMAS	1792-1858 	TIFT

Thomas Drawdy was born in South Carolina in 1792, son of Daniel Drawdy, Sr. 
He was a brother of Daniel Drawdy (Vol.D. With his parents he came to 
Georgia in his youth, and was married in Irwin County, Oct. 12, 1821, to 
Elizabeth Gibbs, born 1801 in South Carolina, daughter of Thomas Gibbs. To 
them were born the following known children:

1. William J.	b. 1827, m. Mrs. Dora Ann Drawdy, Sept. 13, 1849, widow of 
James and dau. of Joseph Fletcher.
2. Frances	b. 1828, never married.
3. Nancy	b. 1834, m. (unknown).
4. Judith	b. 1836, never married.
5. Benj amin	b . 1837, m. (unknown) .
6. Martha	b. 1838, m. Thomas P. Baker, Jan. 27, 1859.
7. Mary	b. 1840, m. Barney Willis. March 4, 1857.
8. Daniel	b. 1842, m. Malinda Hollingsworth, Dec. 18, 1862, dau. of Jesse 
of Berrien Co.

The Drawdy home and farm was on lot 20, 1st. district of Irwin (now Wilcox) 
County, for several years, but in 1832 he sold out and moved to the 6th 
district of Irwin County where he bought a lot of land in the portion made 
into Worth County in 1854 and since 1906 has been in Tift County. He lived 
there until his death about 1858.
Mr. Drawdy served as a Justice of Irwin Inferior Court, 1837-41, and again 
1841-45. He was a member of the Primitive Baptist Church, and united by 
letter with the church at Dorminy's Meeting-house, March 16, 1833, and was 
dismissed by letter Feb. 4, 1837. His later church membership has not been 
ascertained.
