(in present Tift County) in boyhood. After living and farming with his
brother, Thomas L. Drawdy, in Nassau County, Florida, a few years, he
returned to Georgia. He married and lived in Berrien County until the
winter of 1859-1860 when he moved to Charlton County and settled on a farm
in the "big bend" of the St. Mary's River.

born in 1856. She died in 1894. On October 24, 1895, Mr. Drawdy married
his third wife, Mrs. Angeline Gibbs, widow of George Damg Gibbs of Clinch
County, and daughter of James Dampier. She died in January 1924. There
was no issue by either the second or third marriages.
Mr. Drawdy served in Company "B", 21st. Georgia Battalion, Confederate
Army, volunteering July 1863, and serving until the close of the War. A
pension was granted him just a few weeks prior to his death in 1920. He
never lived to draw the first payment. He enlisted in Charlton County and
after the War returned home and continued to farm there until 1869 when he
decided to move to Clinch County. He bought Lots 501 and 502, 7th district
of Clinch, and moved there and farmed. He also later bought lot 503,
adjoining. He retired from farming due to age and moved into Homerville,
three miles away, in 1914, and continued living there until his death
February 15, 1920, age nearly 90 years.

county during the War while home on a furlough. On January 10, 1874, he
became a member of Prospect Primtive Baptist Church in Clinch County by
letter. As a result of his church's attitude on Masonry, he suffered
himself to be suspended from the Masonic fraternity by Cassia Lodge, June
25, 1881. He died a member of Prospect Church. His wife, Elizabeth was
first a member of Empire Primitive Baptist Church near her old home in
Berrien County, but later tansferred her membership to the church in
Charlton where her husband had joined. She then moved it to Prospect
Church with him, and died a member there.
