Subject: Dr. SAMUEL CARNE one week later From: Elizabeth Russo Date: April 28, 2000 One week later, Dr. SAMUEL CARNE seems to be in a bit less amiable mood, and places this ad in the SC Gazette, October 16, 1762: "The subscriber, after an absence of 15 months, is sorry to find his affairs almost as far from being settled as when he left the province; and he is obliged to close his former dealings, and discharge his debts both here and in Europe, begs those [with] any wife indebted to him, and to CARNE and WILSON, to discharge the same by the 31st of December 1762, as after that time, he will, without distinction, sue for every debt then unpaid.
