Hi All,

I'm trying to locate my mother's place of birth. She was adopted through the
Kershaw County Children's Home in 1937. Her birth wasn't registered until
eight years later and her birth certificate was issued in 1949 by SC. She was
delivered by a Dr. Andrew Burnett Whitaker II. He was born in Camden in 1905
and graduated from MUSC in 1931. From there he went to Nassau County, NY to do
his residency. He died in 1963 - place, unknown. The AMA doesn't have where he
practiced and the Natl. Genealogical Society only has the deceased physician's
records through the S - surnames so far. Does anyone know if he came back to
SC after his residency?

Birthmother's maiden name - Williamson (Stayed in Rock Hill, SC from Feb. -
June of 1937)
