I have written to Ms. Quillen privately because the message was too long
to include in answer to her query. The Camden Doweys are descended from
Robert Dowey married to Ann Hannah Henry/Hendry of Bladen Co., NC. Their
son Alexander Henry Dowey married Caroline Peake and settled in Lugoff,
SC, just outside of Camden. A sister Margaret Elizabeth Dowey married Henry
Barfild s/o William Barfied of Fairfield Co., and they settled on the North
side of present day Wateree Lake. Of course the lake was not there then.
The line which I have, starts with Ann Hannah's grandfather Neal Henry
down to my children. Neal was born in Scotland around 1720 and probably
never came to America. The only reference I have to him is a family Bible
passed down through the Henrys and Doweys. Any one wishing a copy of my
data base is welcome to it. I can send it attached to an e-mail as a wordperfect/
 .doc file or a .txt file whichever is most convenient.
