case anyone else needs the info.

"Before 1880, divorce, as a practial legal remedy, did not exist in South 
Carolina...From 1868 until 1878 when a legislative statute again outlawed 
divorce, divorce could be obtained in the courts of common pleas.  Since 
1950, divorce has been legal in South Carolina."
