I am reasearch a DENNIS family that consists of Gower and Henry known to
be bros. and a James R., I think is a bro. They moved from Sumter Co.,Ga
after 1830 and before 1850 all of them were in Autauga Co.,AL.There are
other possible bros. there named Jacob,John L. and Mathias as well as
many possible grown children.A  Richard H. and a Richard G. are the only
Dennis's in Sumter Co. who had enough males on the census to be the
parents of these.Thre is also a Rebecca Dennis named in a will of a John
R. MURPH who may be related and also from Sumter Co.I am going to SC in
a few days to pursue them.Any info on them would be appreciated.I hope
to go to the SC
State Archives,the SC Historical Society and the Camden Archives and
Museum.Any hints on research at those places would also be helpful.
