DAVIS, WILLIAM L, (p. 54); There was another son overlooked in writing the
sketch in Vol, 1, and who was personally known to the Compiler, viz., Allen
Davis, b. 1861, married Henrietta Touchton, daughter of Henry H. Touchton,
They lived in Clinch (now Lanier) County, below Stockton.

DAVIS, RANDALL JOHN (p. 90): (1) The following are the birthdates for the
children of Mr. and Mrs. Davis as taken from their old family bible:

Alfred, Nov. 16, 1842 Eveline, June 29, 1856, (d. Jan. 16, 1857).
Rachel, Sept. 23, 1844
Mary Ann, March 2, 1846 Harley,	Feb. 25, 1858
Pollie, Jan. 25, 1849 Joseph,	April 6, 1860
Martha, March 1, 1852 Jacob, July 16, 1862
Randall, Feb. 10, 1854 Walter,	Sept. 20, 1865

(2) Mr. and Mrs. Davis were married Jan. 20. 1842. (3) The son, Alfred
Davis, was married twice. His second wife was Mary Taylor, sister of the
wife of his brother, Jacob. (4) Mr. Davis was a private in the Indian War,
serving under Capt. James A. Sweat, Aug. 31st to Dec. 31, 1838; also,
August 19th to Nov. 18, 1840.

DAVIS, WILLIAM L. (p. 64): He volunteered in Co. "D", 26th Georgia Infantry
Regiment, and was killed in action at 2nd Manasses, Va., Aug. 28, 1862.

DAVIS, STAFFORD (p. 91): (1) There was another son, Thomas Davis, born
1840, and died in Coffee county, March 27, 1920. Thomas married Mary A.
Neel, July 5, 1867. His name was apparently overlooked by the late D. W.
Lott, County historian, from whose f 11 e s the list of children as printed
was taken. (2) Stafford Davis was born in Barnwell Dist. S. C., instead of
Darlington District. The 1790 Census shows his parents living there then,
that being the year of his birth, and the 1850 Census showing that he
himself was born in S. C.

DAVIS, SHEPPARD (p. 70): (1) The son, Thomas Allen Davis, married Tabitha
Byrd, April 9, 1881, daughter of Dred Byrd of Pierce County. (2) Sheppard
Davis' wife Ardelia was not a daughter of Josiah Wilson but of Luke Wilson,
and is so shown in the Luke Wilson sketch in Vol. V. Thanks to Rev. Raymond
F. Cook for pointing out this error.

DAVIS, ARTHUR - VOL.V: He also had a son, George W. (Vol.VII), born in
1800, and married to Amelia Mixon, daughter of Redden Mixon.

DAVIS, GEORGE W. - VOL.VII: (1) His wife was Amelia Mixon (not Wilson),
born in 1800, a daughter of Redden Mixon (not Joseph Wilson). She was named
for her mother and was a younger sister to the wives of Lewis Thomas
(Vol.Vll) and Banner Thomas (Vol.111). (2) His son, George W., Jr., did not
marry Mrs. Charlotte Byrd as was stated. His wife was named Jane, thought
to be nee Crawford. (3) His son, Allen M., was Allen Marion, who married
Martha Emily Davis, daughter of Sheppard Davis (Vol.Vl).

DAVIS, IVY - VOL.VII: His daughter, Sentelle, was married March 29, 1896
(not 1886) to Dr. Marion Martin Pafford, M.D., in a double ceremony in
which her sister, Amanda, married his brother, Rev. Newsom Thomas Pafford,
a Methodist minister. The grooms were sons of Rowan Pafford (Vol.1) and his
second wife Frances Corbitt.

Contributed by: Michael H. Pafford of Blackshear, Georgia.

DAVIS, SHEPPARD - VOL.VI: This pioneer and most of his family are buried in
