This is not my family, but while on a recent visit to Georgeown,Texas (near
Austin) I shopped at a lovely gift shop. On a plaque outside the store, it
said DAVID LOVE was born in South Carolina.

I thought this might be of interest to someone searching this SC family.

The David Love Store

Born in 1821, David Love was a pioneer settler of this area. Love's name
appears on the petition to form a new county in February 1848. He served as a
county commissioner and was an original director of the Georgetown Railroad
Company. It is believed that he fought in the battle of San Jacinto with Sam
Houston.

Later in life Mr. Love constructed the David Love Store, a facility which has
housed many businesses including a grocery, drug store, restaurant, hardware
store and barber shop. Built in 1883, the David Love Store has been a vital
part of downtown Georgetown for over a century.

Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the building is an example
of High Victorian commercial architecture. It features the recessed storefront
highlighted with the application of decorative pressed metal. Considered as
less important, the party walls and alley facade are constructed of locally
quarried limestone.

Hope this tidbit finds a "home."
