This information comes from "Abstracts of the Manning Times Clarendon County, South Carolina" by Delores Schmidt. Page 41 19 March 1890 Mr. Hector Ard of Sammy, only 36 years old yet has 2 grandchildren-the oldest nearly 4. Mr. Ard married before he was 14 years of age. Mr. Ard's father married twice and had 21 children-11 by his first wife were boys and 9 served the Confederacy.
