Subject: Re: DAR membership invitations From: Jbmoser Date: January 10, 2000 All one has to do to join DAR is to have an ancestor who was a patriot or citizen during the revolutionary period (which I believe extends beyond the period of the acutal war) and contact your local or state DAR society for the work sheets that will tell you the process and proof needed. If you are lucky, one of your "kin" is already a member, which makes the paper work a little easier. The registar of your chapter will be happy to work with you on obtaining proof. I am a DAR member who started from scratch - none of my other "cousins" are members. Luckily, I have been a member of DRT for a long time - so some of the proof I needed was already complied.
