What I was saying, that because of confusion of some non-members about the
value and use of inherited lineage papers, some think they can not join
without inheriting these papers. This incorrect concept needs to be
addressed and clarified; which your e-male attempts to do. Thank you. Jim,

There has been lots of talk about the DAR and CD concerning lineage papers
and such.

problems. Very early on some members were excepted when their lineage
papers would have been questioned today. This was a very small percentage
and not the norm. Most of the papers were completed properly and fully
documented.

found constantly. When new information becomes available it is requested
for lineage records. If a person tries to join on the papers of another and
errors are found in the earlier papers, the errors must be corrected for the
new applicant.

found. Please don't make it sound like a plot to confuse later genealogist.
That is not the case. The majority of lineage papers that can be found at
the wonderful and impressive libraries of both these organizations are
correct, through and very helpful.

become a very modern organization. They can be visited at the National Web
Site htpp://www.Dar.org from that site you can access
every state and overseas society and many of our local chapters web sites.
