Hi, my name is Tom Brown and I am a member of the SAR in Northeast
Georgia. I did a quick check of my SAR Grave index of Revolutionary
soldiers and found one listing for a William Carithers. It list the one
I found as being born in 1754, died in 1826, having served as a Private
in SC, and buried in Lystra Church Cemetery in Madison County, Georgia.
I don't know if this is yours, or just someone else with the same name,
but Madison County is only about 50 or so miles due west of Abbiville
District, SC. Could he have moved very late in life possibly?

Hope this is of some help. He is the only one of that name listed of
over 65,000 grave listings.

Thanks
Tom Brown
