<< Hi, This needs to stop. Was the information copyrighted? If not don't call
it
theft. I copy information from other people and also post information for
others to use freely. I love genealogy and hate to see adults act like this.
I appreciate all the help I have gotten and love helping others. If you
don't
want your info used don't post it. Keep it to yourself and let you and your
ancestors be forgotten. If you post information to help others who cares who
uses it. So please take the argument off this list and email privately.

I believe this should be settled within the list. Small excerpts from
books can be posted with notation of the source. Information you put in
your personal files is ok - that is research - but you may not publish that
information if it contains full quotations from another's work. Web pages
are printed material like books. Putting something out on the internet is
like publishing. Copyright rules apply. Bottom line - if you copied
original records from the microfilm - you can post without source credit.
If you didn't copy it from the microfilm - somebody else did and the credit
and copyright is theirs - and their choice to waive or not. Cynthia
expressly reserved copyright. The law was broken. Allowing blantant
disregard for the law should shame everyone on this list.
