Hello Wendy,

While I searching for Census Index information on the 30+ surnames I'm
researching, the name CULBREATH happened to catch my eye on the
Edgefield 1850 Census page. There were eight page numbers listed for
that surname. Just in case you haven't been there already, the full
website address for that Edgefield 1850 Census page is:

The two CULBREATH entries in Pauline Young's "Abstracts. . ." were for
Henry C., who witnessed the 4/24/1839 will of Peter CHEATHAM in
Abbeville District; and Wiley CULBREATH who, in the 12/27/1839
administering of the estate Stephen WHITLEY in Abbeville District, was
listed as "gdn [guardian] of minor chn. of Abney [Abner] Mays decd." As
those children were assigned other guardians in 1841, it may be that
Wiley moved out-of-state. No will for either Henry C. or Wiley
CULBREATH is listed in the book.

Also, you've probably read yesterday's posting regarding the 3/15
closing of Abbeville Books, the source of some of the books I
recommended to you.

Best wishes,

Judith
