Subject: Creative Spelling ~ From: Janet Jilote Date: November 17, 1999 I was just browsing the 1850 SC Census Index of Chesterfield Co, SC, and found the name SHEWMAKER. Not a connection for me, but gave me a smile just the same. It's proof of yet another 'creative spelling' of surnames.
