Hello,
I am new to the list.  I am trying to find information on the parents of
William Andrew CRAWFORD b.1815 in Abbeville.  Brothers are probably Thomas,
James, and Joseph L. Mother is probably Elizabeth ? and father maybe William
L. Crawford, who appears in the 1820, 1830, & 1840 Abbeville census.  This
family moved in the 1840's to Fayette Cty., AL.  I do not know what happened
to the elder William L. Crawford.  I believe the L. stands for LINDSEY,
because William Andrew named one of his sons, William Lindsey Crawford.
William L. may be the son of Joseph L. Crawford, will dated June 11, 1798, and
Agnes, will proven 1842.  

William Andrew Crawford (b.1815) married Susannah Emeline DOBBINS, b.1818 in
Anderson Cty.  She was the daughter of James Dobbins, b.abt.1790 in Abbeville
or Anderson, SC and Elizabeth PORTER.  James's second wife was Martha ERSKINE.
James DOBBINS was the son of James DOBBINS b.abt.1742 location unknown, and
Elizabeth STEPHENSON b.abt. 1752 in Augusta, VA.  James and Elizabeth
Stephenson had their  first child in Augusta, VA.  

Susannah's mother, Elizabeth PORTER, was the daughter of Samuel Porter, b.
1763 in Guilford Cty., NC and Susannah ?.  

I would like to correspond with anyone working on these families.
