Subject: COURTNEY, JAMES Darlington Co From: Larry Noah Date: August 19, 1999
My ancestors were Ezra COURTNEY (abt. 1825-1864) and
Isabella JAMES (1825-1906). They were in the area of
Darlington Co that is now Florence and Lee Counties. Ezra's
father was the John COURTNEY who was for many years an
active member of Elim Baptist Church. He was a Senior
Deacon when he died. Isabella's father is believed to be a
Joshua JAMES. So far, I have not been able to connect John,
father of Ezra, and Joshua, possible father of Isabella,
with any other COURTNEYs and JAMES of the area. Any
information would be appreciated. Thanks.
