I don't know if either of these Courtneys could possibly be Jordan's father,
but they are both listed in the Lexington County, SC 1850 Census (printed
and annotated by the Lex. Cty. Genealogical Association. These are the
only 2 Courtneys in this census and New Brookland was in Lexington County.
It is now known as West Columbia:

Household #924 (Quattlebum household): Annotation states that Mittie Elizabeth
Quattlebaum (1/22/1841 - 1/27/1917), buried at Wittenberg Lutheran Church
in Leesville, SC married GEORGE COURTNEY (b. ? - CSA)

Household #1017 (Ralls household): Annotation states taht Henry A. Rawls
(1840 - 6/6/1864 CSA buried Petersburg, VA) married Mulvenia Hutto (9/25/1839
- 5/9/1913 buried Bethcar Baptist Church, Wagener,Aiken County, SC) daughter
of Martin V. and Elvira N. (Gunter?) Hutto; (she married second - his second
wife) WILLIAM COURTNEY.
