Anyone searching the CORTES family of SC?

It would have been a lot easier had this name been CORDES,
but for now the only spelling I have is CORTES. The family
is related to another family members from Colleton & Chas.
Counties with Native American roots.

I have found And (female) (b.c. 1810), Elizabeth (b.c.
1800), and Richard (b.c. 1850) CORTES in the 1870 SC Census
for Charleston, 3W.
