CONFEDERATES IN BRIZIL - Jfhawthorn

After the end of the Civil War a group of Confederates (Confederados) left
Dixie in about 1868 and established a city in Brazil that they named
Americanna. The city with a current population of some 160,000 still holds
Confederate festivals four or five times a year. I understand that they
retained their culture and language and that some 150,000 people there can
trace their roots back to the first Rebel settlers. The early settlers and
their descendants are buried in Campo Cemetery.

Now I have listed what I know, but what I want to know is if someone has a
list of the first settlers or any other information that may aid me in my
search for a few lost cousins that may have taken the boat trip down.......
