Karen, I did not see anyone from SC in your list, but I am interested in the 
Coley name. My husband's great uncle (dec.) was named Coley Lawrence RIVERS. 
I asked his wife where the name Coley came from and she said it was a family 
name, but knew nothing more. Coley's parents were Lawrence Mays RIVERS (s/o 
David Aaron RIVERS & Ella Jane "Janie" SHEALY) & Sarah Virginia "Sallie" 
Williams (d/o Oliphant WILLIAMS & Maggie Robertson.)

I have yet to find any Coley connections; the most likely source would be 
From the family of Maggie Robertson, about whom I know nothing, except she 
was b. ca 1864, probably around Edgefield SC where her husband and children 
were born. She was perhaps the d/o James H. Robertson and Margaret E. Green 
OR she was living with Emily Talbert [1880 census], I can't at this time tell 
who she was or have her date of death.

Might you have a SC COLEY connection w/any of the above? Interestingly, I 
found my tentative link to the Oliphant family through the given name of 
Coley's younger brother, Oliphant and their grandfather, Oliphant Williams, 
named after his uncle who died in the CW, Oliphant Walker, named after his 
great grandmother's surname, Beersheba (Oliphant) Hollingsworth. I'd love to 
have such luck w/the Coley name. It is one area into which I have not 
previously researched.
