In a message dated 98-05-09 19:04:10 EDT, you write:

<< 1) Phillip Allman - he would have been in his 20s. No other information
known, except did fight in war and believed to have either been killed or
deserted his family.

 2) Daniel Anderson Evans - killed in Virginia (?) >>

Greetings from South Carolina. I find no Allman whatsoever-- or any name
variation I could think of (AUMAN, ALMAN, ALDMAN, ALMOND, etc.).

BUT I may have found your Daniel Anderson EVANS. It feels almost as good as a
personal BINGO ! In Broken Fortunes by Randolph W. Kirkland, I find these
listings:

p. 106

Evans, Daniel A., Pvt., Co. E, 2nd SCVI, Kershaw District, died 05/16/62 at
Richmond, VA, died of disease, buried Hollywood Cemetary, Richmond, G161

Evans, Daniel, Pvt. Co. B, 22nd SCVI, Spartanburg District, died 06/23/62 at
Columbia, SC, died of disease (note: another source says Crater, Pbg.)

Hope one of these is your Daniel. Happy hunting and good health to you.
