    Been reading all the mail on the Chicken family and remembered that I saw that name in the early S.C. Gazette at the South Carolina Room in Charleston Library.  It is indexed for the earliest years and as I looked for Jenkins information I would run across the name in some of the ads on the same page.  It tends to be ads for various things but you never know what you can turn up.  Perhaps one of the descendants is in Charleston and can do the look up for the family.  Happy hunting.
