Is there anyone out there that can help this person?  I don't know her, and 
will try to  help all I can.  Since I am not researching this line I thought 
I might forward this to you from me, since I am a member and you could e-mail

Hello Joy:
Sorry to bother you but I must ask.
I have been told that all of the earliest records of SC are in Charleston,
SC no matter what County that a person long ago ended up living in later on
when the state divided up into Dist. and then later on Counties.

I have searched for years for a bible record, a church record, a will or a
marriage record even for some way long ago folks.
I was told two days ago that these would most likley be held still in old
Charles Town, SC which today we call Charleston.

I seek to learn of parents for a man b. 2/19/1762  His name was Hezikiah
Cockerham.
He may be some kin to a man known as William Dunlap Cockerham later found in
Surry NC and with a man named Daniel who we believe to be the Father of
William.

My Hezikiah Cockerham then grew to manhood somewhere and married a lady
named
Elizabeth ??    we have no idea as to what her maiden name was at all.

They then had a son William b. 1/24/1786
and then another son they named John b. 8/20/1789

Then in 1790 Hezikiah and his family are found living in Greenville Dist. SC
and show up on public record for the first time ever.  However there are
also two more young boys under the age of 16 living with them and then later
on these boys disappear.

I have the birth and death information on Hezikiah Cockerham first found
spelled Cockrain and much later on spelled Cockrum.  I have his wills.  I
know of all three of his marriages.  I have all of his children's names who
they married and when.

I have this due to a Grandson of his named George who was later born to
Hezikiah and Elizabeths son William and his wife  Mary Spillers who they
called Polly.
George had a bible and recorded many things in it.

This bible when George died went to his only son Ovid.

Ovid Dunlap Cothran was my Grandfather!!

I live in Florida and can't get to Charleston myself to look.
I need a huge favor as I don't even know if Chraleston holds what I need or
not.

I am willing to pay someone to help me out.
