Hi all: I have been lurking for sometime now and have decided to post
my query. Does anyone know of a site where I might get ships and/or
passenger lists for a ship my gggggrandfather emigrated on from either
Ireland or England to Charleston. He landed in Charleston in 1768 or
1769 and was apparently a peddler on the "frontier" until the Am. Rev.
at which time he enlisted and was a soldier until after the war. At
that time he received a land grant from N. C. and by 1784 was in the
French Lick (Fort Nashboro) Fort in Nashville.

I have been unable to locate any sites that have more than one or two
ships landing in Charleston. ANY HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED!!

BTW: my ancestor's name was John Porter MCFARLAND, if anyone is
curious.

Thanks for any help you might be able to offer.

Adrienne: The NUCKOLLS side of me says HI. Small world...
