Recently Jim Allen requested information on ancestors landing in
Charleston 1750 to 1780. Please answer to the list as I too am looking
for information on an ancestor landing in Charleston 1750 to 1770.
Family history has John MCFARLAND landing in Charleston, being a peddler
on the "frontier" for several years and then joining the Rev. War and
stayed until the end of the War. From there he migrated to TN approx.
and is found in Fort Nashboro [Nashville] where he was married in the
Fort in 1783 and held a land grant for service in the Rev. War from N.C.
which is dated June 1793.

I am looking for where he is apt to have taken Naturalization Oath and
if possible the ship on which he arrived. Hence, please reply to the
list.

Thanks for any help anyone might offer.
