Elizabeth,

From what I've seen in the City Directories is that ususally
the home address was listed along with their occupation, and
at times the place, and/or address of the place of
occupation. And yes, sometimes they lived where they worked.
One way of checking this is to check the census addresses
against the directory addresses.

Also, check the business named in the City Directory and see
if it is the same as the address listed along with the
family member.
