Donald, I almost jumped out of my seat when I saw your message.  I have been
looking for ages for a Henson Davis married to a Elizabeth having a daughter
in 1854 in South Carolina.  However, the daughter I have is Jane.  She married
William Elcain who in turn had a daughter Rachel Christine Elcain my great
grandmother.

Could we somehow have the same folks here.  William Elcain and Jane Davis were
in the same area you mentioned.

I got too excited to dig through my census records ... I wanted to get this
off perhaps while you were still on line.
