Subject: Cemeteries of SC From: Southusa Date: June 25, 1998 SCROOTS members, One of the things I enjoy most about genealogy is visiting the old cemeteries where my ancestors are buried. I'm sure all of us know of many South Carolina cemeteries, those that are nicely kept and those that are deep in the woods (sometimes the most fun to find!). If we could list some of those cemeteries, their locations (be sure to note if it on private property, and some of the surnames found there, we many be able to help each other find a lost ancestor. I will start by telling you a little about my Zahler's Cemetery, located on Hwy. 13, between Yemassee and Early Branch. It is a family cemetery, but is not considered private property. Several times a year, many of us family members get together to clean the cemetery and enjoy a cookout together. While most of the graves are ZAHLER and YOUMANS, you will also find DAVIS ULMER HEAPE GATCH DAVIDSON SEARSON GLOVER. Those that I am researching are in bold type.
