My big mystery is the identify of the Carver who married Rebecca Rogers around
1860.
He was from S.C. and some family members say his name was Asa Carver. I did
find some Asa Carvers on the 1850 Pickens County, S. C. census but could not
find them in 1860.
I have so much conflicting info - some say he served in the confederacy and
some in the union. He probably died in the war or soon after leaving Rebecca
with two small sons William Henry and James A.
Rebecca remained with her parents in Polk County, Tennessee. Later son James
A. went to Kansas and William Henry to Fannin County, Ga.

Do any of you know anything about the Carvers of S. C.?
