Subject: CARTER/YOUNG - Chesterfield Co. 1840 From: Eddie Date: July 14, 1998 Samuel CARTER was the father of Sarah CARTER b. 1800 SC. Sarah married John YOUNG b. 1800 SC and they had 8 children in SC between 1821 and 1839 when they migrated to Pontotoc Co., MS. One MS history of this family says that they came from Chesterfield Co., SC. I can't find them there however. In 1850 Pontotoc Co. Census, Samuel Carter was 70 years old. The CARTER-YOUNG family migrated to MS with Moses Wiseman ROBERTS b. 1813, his wife Nancy Jane b. 1816, and their children. Nancy Jane was John Young's sister. I have been unable to located Moses ROBERTS in SC as well.
