Bill:
Before I go spouting off about things that I do not know, I presume that you
have Abraham Odom's will of Jan 30, 1771, which was witnessed by Parker
Carradine. and lists his daughters, Mary Carradine, Sarah Rook and Nancy
Lalothe.
In the 1800 census, Sarah Rook and Mary Odom live in close proximity to
each other and also to my Jesse DeLoach. One of Jesse's land grants
indicates that it included the settlement of Sarah Rook. We have always
thought that the Nancy lalothe could have been mother to Hiram DeLoach but
no proof as of yet.

Actually I have only started inquiries about the Odom connection.

If any of this has any meaning, I would like to hear from you.

You know of course that Sherman burned the Old Beaufort District Courthouse
records, from which Hampton County and Allendale County were formed.
The settlement referred to above is in Allendale County near the Hampton
Count line. All of that land is now part of Groton Plantation, owned by
the Winthrop family since around 1900.
