I have been looking at my 1825 Mills Atlas and it shows the Nelson Ferry Road
crossing the Santee River where Orangeburg,Charleston(now Berkeley) and
Sumter(now Clarendon) meet.Looking on the maps it shows all of the people I
mentioned as living in Charleston(St.Johns-Berkeley according to the census).The
more I think I know,the less I know.On the 1820 census it lists Mary Carliles
neighbors as Nathaniel Marion,Margaret Durant,Adam S. Winter,Elisha Bunch,Peter
Sanders,Andrew Rhodes,Francis Dairs,James McBath and Samuel Reddick. Do you
recognize any of these names.It now seems all of these people lived in what is
now Orangeburgh Co.Thanks Fred.
