Derrell,
I keep a "Military file" on my Outlook Express, so checked it and wantd
to share this accumulation with you. It will take some time to go through,
but they are all wonderful sites. And if you can't find what you want on
these, sometimes there are other sites suggested.

First of all, Cornell University has put the whole War of the Rebellion
on a site, but even though it is in chronological order, there is no index.
You may be able to find an index at a local library.

http://moa.cit.cornell.edu/MOA/MOA-JOURNALS2/WARO.html

And some other sites:

http://www.ruf.rice.edu/~pjdacis/websites.htm>

http://www.geocities.com/screbels_1864/SC_Militia.html>

http://www.sunsite.utk.edu/civil-war/warweb.htm

You may have to type the next one in yourself.

If you cannot find your officer among these web sites, your local library
may have some good books on the Civil War. I bought my husband a big coffee
size book, HARPER'S PICTORIAL HISTORY OF THE CIVIL WAR , by Guernsey and
Alden. You can sometimes find it in second hand bookstores.

Good luck

Joanne H.
