Greetings from South Carolina. I am enjoying working my way through your SC
Huguenot site. We have several common lines. Thought you might want to add the
following information to your Charles CANTEY/ Ann DRAKE page.

Ann DRAKE was the daughter of Jonathan DRAKE, Sr. & Mary Loveridge DRAKE. I do
not see dates for Ann at the moment, but she was alive at the time her
mother's will was written, 29 April 1768.

Mary Loveridge DRAKE was the daughter of Lewis LOVERIDGE.

Children of Mary DRAKE were Jonathan, Anne CANTEY, Dorothy STOCKER, Loveridge
VILLEPONTOUX & Sarah.

From Will Abstracts of SC : " MARY DRAKE, St. John's Parish, Berkeley County,
widow. Husband: Jonathan Sr., Decceased. Son: Jonathan, 1/2 residue of estate.
Daus: Anne Cantey, Dorothy Stocker, Loveridge Villepontoux and Sarah, other
half of residue of estate. Grandson: Drake Villepontoux. Granddau: Margaret
Villepontoux. Mentions: lot on Bay St. in Chares Town left me by my father
Lewis Loveridge and my schooner to be sold to pay debts; a bond payable to
Messrs. John Hogsden and Ellis Stocker; son- in- law Zachariah Villepontoux's
bond payable to me and Mr. William Cachman. Exors: son; sons-in-law Mr.
Charles Cantey and Zachariah Villepontoux. Wit: Zachariah Vollepontous [sic],
Peter Villepontoux, Sarah Villepontoux. D: 29 Apr. 1768. P: 3 June 1768. R:
nd. p. 228."

Regarding John CANTEY, father of Charles CANTEY. I cannot find an exact match
in my records, but feel fairly confident that it is the same John CANTEY that
I have recorded as being born circa 1675 and died 1724 (you have born 1678 and
died April 1725). I have him as being married first to unknown and second to
Ann. My John was the son of George and Martha CANTEY.

Regarding the line of Benjamin SIMONS II/ Ann KEATING: You have the "other
spouse" of Benjamin SIMONS listed as Ann Dymes DEWICK. I believe that should
be Ann DEWITT, whom he married on 13 March 1755. Benjamin SIMONS' daughter,
Mary, was born 19 Oct. 1739, married 22 Jan. 1756 to Daniel LESESNE, and died
and/or was buried 15 May 1791, St. Thomas Parish. I have some other complete
dates for this line, but can't tell if you really need them or if your method
is to just use the year.

I'm sure I will have other info to send as I work my way through your lines.
Happy hunting and good health to you.
