You know, if we could all get ourselves to writing dates in the
genealogically correct fashion, it would help us all so much.  After all
1/10/93 could be January 10,1993 or Jan 10, 1893 or Jan 10, 1793 orOctober
1 of any of the above years.  1 Oct 1883 is how I always teach those in any
classes I teach, to write dates, day month year.  I also teach them to
write locations from smallest geographical location to the largest, with
each separated by a comma.  If you don't know the county, i teach them to
write the location this way:  Toccoa, , Georgia.  That indicates the county
is unknown.  If only the county and state is known, I teach this way of
writing the location: ,Franklin, Georgia.

These ways of writing clarify things and leave so little room for error by
mistakenly reading the date or location wrong.
