HEART ATTACK FATAL TO C.P. BLACKMON, 63
One of Kershaw's best known citizens, Cicero Pearl [sic] Blackmon, 63,
passed away Monday, May 5, at his home near Kershaw after suffering a
heart attack.
He was the son of the late J. Tom and Elizabeth Gregory Blackmon, and was
an active farmer until his death.
He was an active member of the Shamrock Baptist Church.
Funeral services were conducted at 4 p.m., Tuesday from the Shamrock
church, by the Rev. J.D. Caston, assisted by the Rev. Paul M. Webb.
Mr Blackmon is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ada Estridge Blackmon; three
sons, Lewis D. Blackmon of Bethune, Ira Blackmon of Camden, and Wayne S.
Blackmon of Columbia; four daughters, Mrs. J. F. Williams of Bethune,
Mrs. Hazel Elliott of Camden, Mrs. M.D. Burley of Columbia, and Miss
Doris Blackmon of Charleston; two brothers, Chester W. Blackmon of
Bethune, and Luther B. Blackmon of Taxahaw; six sisters, Mrs. L.J. Baker
and Mrs. L.W. Raley of Bethune, Mrs. J.L. Knight of Westville, Mrs. Drew
Knight of Wilmington, Mrs. Wilma Faile of the Midway Community and Mrs.
Dinah Morgan of Great Falls.
