I am looking for evidence of plantations in South Carolina belonging to the
Butlers of Gywnn County, Georgia. Also looking for possible kin (or
important commercial) connections between Butlers, Davenports, Culbreaths,
Ismingers, all of lower piedmont area of South Carolina, as in Greenwood,
abbeville, Saluda and Newberry, Lexington and Richland. Example: Thomas
Butler King, Retreat Plantation, St. Simon's Island; Butler's Island, Pierce
Butler, John Butler were all Georgians, mid 19th century. My relatives who
are Butlers are in aluda and Richland. I am trying to figure out if someone
moved to S. Carolina, or if there was another branch in S. Carolina. Any
thoughts on this greatly appreciated.
