Subject: Butlers of Gwynn County, Georgia and South Carolina links From: WENDY WILSON FALL Date: February 28, 2000 I am looking for evidence of plantations in South Carolina belonging to the Butlers of Gywnn County, Georgia. Also looking for possible kin (or important commercial) connections between Butlers, Davenports, Culbreaths, Ismingers, all of lower piedmont area of South Carolina, as in Greenwood, abbeville, Saluda and Newberry, Lexington and Richland. Example: Thomas Butler King, Retreat Plantation, St. Simon's Island; Butler's Island, Pierce Butler, John Butler were all Georgians, mid 19th century. My relatives who are Butlers are in aluda and Richland. I am trying to figure out if someone moved to S. Carolina, or if there was another branch in S. Carolina.
