Joe: Thank you for that wonderful answer.  I now have a better "vision" of 
where this is. I mentioned that there was a Fort Bull...may or maynot have 
much to do with Bull Swamp..I am just learning about the area. One of my 
ancestors: James McGowen had a ferry on the upper Savannah..Do you have any 
resources i.e. Ferry owners? This was in late 1700 and early 1800. Thanks
