I'm looking for a first link to the Brunson's of Sumter, SC. My mother's
parents were William "Bill" Daniel Brunson, 1834-1920 and his wife was Emma
Orana Newman Brunson b.01 Oct 1870 d. 17 Nov 1925. They had been dead many
years before I was born and I remember my mother telling me that her mother
was adopted by the Newman family in Sumter, SC. She was from Turkey and my
mother was too young to ask what her parents name were or where in Turkey
she was from. All she knew was that she was Turkish. Her father was injured
during the war and when she was a little girl her mother took her father to
a train station and put him on the train to go somewhere in SC to be looked
after until his death. Sounds horrible to do that but she obviously did. My
grandmother wrote school books, according to my mother. That is the extent
of my knowledge and perhaps this is a dead end road but since Sumter is a
small town I thought someone might know how to go about a search. Their
children were:
Daniel
Charles or Charlie b. 18 Dec 1905 d. 07 April 1979
Natalie Louise b. 01 Jan 1908 d. 14 Sept 1986
Orana
Lucers b. 18 July 1909 d. 23 Aug 1976
Orana married a Johnson and had a child named Edward. She died during
childbirth but Edward lived with his father in Sumter. He worked for the
telephone company in Sumter for years and had married Rachel_____. Some of
their children were: Annette, Jimmy, Allan, and a girl who married a Dr.
DuBose, a dentist.

This isn't much to go on but if anyone knows any information at all, I would
appreciate hearing from you, either through the list or by writing me at:
[email protected]. Thank you for any assistance you may give.

Chris
