Subject: Breakthrough From: Clubtweety Date: August 15, 2000 I was about to give up on this genealogy ____________! When I had a breakthrough................ I went to the Georgetown Library about six months ago and got a list of the Heywards in the 1880 census records and they had three families listed side by side, and the last Heyward they had listed was Buff and Sara (I found out was Buff's first wife). Also found out that Buff's mother's name was Nancy Williams. I was trying to get information about Buff's father, mother, brothers and sisters. Anyway I wrote down all the Heywards that were listed side by side with Buff........When I asked around nobody recognized any of the other Heywards that were listed. Yesterday I went to Andrews, SC to visit with the oldest Aunt that my husband knew of that was Buff's daughter (she is 96) after talking to her I got some information but not exactly what I was looking for, and was about to go home when her younger sister came over and we were talking about family and what I was trying to gather together. We started talking and I started taping the conversations. They started naming off some names in bits and pieces about when they were young and what made them laugh and cry.......after listening I started thinking hey I remember somewhere seeing those names....... rummaging back a couple of papers I found the names they were talking about "Oh my goodness" they lived two dwellings down from Buff and Sara........They were his parents and his brothers and sisters............... I just couldn't believe it "Thank You Jesus" I said out loud (of course they stopped and looked at me like I had just gone crazy) and asked me what was wrong. I told them that I had his parents name for the past 6 months and never even thought that, that Nancy could have been his mother. I am so excited that I just had to share that with everyone.
