Whereas NTHANIEL SCOTT owned part of lot #198 in Charleston bounding W 140 ft. on Friend St.; S 61 ft. on part belonging to GEORGE ROUPELL; E on another part; N on a part belonging to THOMAS HUTCHINSON; & also owned another part of same lot lying between Tradd & Broad Sts., being part of the back land of said lot, 108 ft. from N to S & 60 ft. from E to W, bounding N on HUTCHINSON; S on the part elonging to THOMAS SMITH; W on first part; E on DANIEL LEGARE, JR.; & whereas RICHARD CLARK & THOMAS SMITH obtained separate judgments against SCOTT & 2 writs of fieri facias were issued to the P.M., ROGER PINCKNEY, commanding him to recover the amounts & costs of suit, whereby PINCKNEY sold said 2 parts of lot #198, with the buildings, etc., at auction, to SAMUEL BRAILSFORD on 11 May 1767; now through his attorney he sells 1 part to WILLIAMS.
