My family oral history gave me the name of the slaveowner as the father of my gr gr grandfather. As a matter of fact, the name Lowdnes happens to be the middle name of the son of the slaveowner in my line. Not too long ago, someone emailed me where the name Lowndes and Chevis came From. I can't remember right now and the letter in put away in my genealogy notebook. Anyway, enough of that. Just wanted you to know. THERE IS HISTORY IN OUR ROOTS!!!
