Another source for death certificates is the SC Department of Archives and
History in Columbia, SC. I don't know how much they charge or if they will
even do a search. I was there a few months ago and saw the microfilmed
death certificate records for all of the counties of SC beginning in 1915.
I spent several hours trying to find my gg-grandfather, Daniel Harrison
Howard, and finally found his death certificate in the SC Archives filed
among the Abbeville deaths dated in September of 1925. It opened all sorts
of research opportunities since it identified his parents who were
previously unknown.
