It is shown located about 3-5 miles from Santee River where the Santee Canal crosses the road between Eutaw Spring and Pineville. This is near the corner joining Charleston, Sumter, and Williamsburg Districts. The Big Camp site was at the line separating St. Stephen's Parish and St. John's Berkley Parish. Nearby names shown by Mills include Bulltown Bay, Kirk's Swamp, Steep Run, Boggy Gully, Porcher's Embankment, Inside Creek, Sandy Creek, Gaillards Island, Horse Pen (or Pea?)
