I was interested in the reference below to Hezekiah Nettles. My ancestor
Solomon Nettles was b. Feb. 28, 1720 in Virginia and died in 1813 in the
Privateer Section of Sumter Co., S.C. He was married to Elizabeth Marley. Is
anyone familiar with this family? I have seen references to several Nettles
families but have not been able to make a connection with any of them to
Solomon. While you are checking cemetery listings, Mary, could you check for
Solomon Nettles or Elizabeth in the Privateer Section. By the way, that is a
name I haven't seen much before. Does anyone know what the Privateer Section
was or how it got it's name? Kathy
