He was born, according to census records, in South Carolina. But I have been unable to establish the county, who his parents were or connection to any siblings. He married an Elizabeth, with whom he had probably 10 children and finally settled in Alabama where they had a plantation and where both died ca 1865 and 1860, respectively.
