Hi, Debi, I am the 6th generation great grandson of William Green, b 1745
who settled in Barnwell County, then Winton District in the 1770's. He was
very influential in the the development of the county and his ten children
established many descendants. My wife, Peggy is 6th generation great
grandaughter of William Wroten from Barnwell County. The spelling of the
surname can be seen spelled in various ways on documents and census records.
Ex: Wroten, Wroughton, Roughton, Rhoden, Roden, Rhoaden. I have not as yet
found Elizabeth Wroten's parents are John Green's parents. I have the
Wroten line back to its English origin. Gerald Fletcher Greene.
