I have a copy of the BETHANY CEMETERY INSCRIPTIONS. According to the
introduction in the book is the following: "This volume contains
inscriptions from the historic Bethany Cemetery of Charleston, South
Carolina, and early death records of St. Matthews Lutheran Church. Bethany
Cemetery has traditionally been the burial ground of families of German
ancestry, and particularly the numerous families who migrated from Hanover
during the early 1800's"

It further states: "............This book also contains early death records
of historic St. Matthews Lutheran Church, as early burials from the
congregaton were made at old Hampstedt Cemetery."

If you need a look up let me know.
